CLEAN UP

Gqeberha residents are invited to join a fun inner-city clean up on Saturday April 1 that will start from the Absa building at 51 Govan Mbeki Street at 8.30am until 10am.

This is in the build-up to the Absa Run Your City Gqeberha 10K that will make its debut on April 2.

TUNA CHALLENGE

The Annual Tuna Challenge will take place between April 26 and April 30 at the Port St Francis Ski Boat & Yacht Club.

Entry fee for members is R950, R1,250 for non-members, R500 for juniors, and R600 for non-junior members.

Register at the Ski Boat Club on April 25 from 5pm to 5.45pm. Closing date for entry is April 8.

Weigh in each day from 4pm (all welcome).

A prize giving will be held on April 30.

MARKETS

The Crossways Village Market will take place on March 26 from 9am to 1pm.

Join in the fun of a country market, live music, food trucks, crafts and pony rides.

Entrance is free and the venue is wheelchair-friendly. Fur kids on a leash are welcome.

The Friendly City Food Market will take place on April 1 at 12 Ninth Avenue, Walmer, from 9am to 2pm.

There is a R10 entrance fee. Friends of Linton Grange Library will host a craft market on Friday March 31 from 9am to 1pm.

Art in the Park will be held on Sunday March 26 at St George’s Park in Park Drive from 9am until 2pm.

There will be food, arts and crafts, bric a brac and various other stalls. There will also be live music.

ENIGMA TOUR

Zonke will bring her Enigma Tour to Gqeberha when she performs at the Boardwalk ICC on May 13.

Tickets cost between R450 and R1,500. The more expensive option includes a meet and greet, a photo opportunity and a goody bag.

Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

U3A MEETING

U3A PE meetings are designed to be interesting and stimulating, to pique the interest of retired folk in something new and to keep minds active.

This month’s meeting will be held on Tuesday March 28 at the Newton Park Library Auditorium at 9.45am for 10am.

Speaker Jackye Riddle will talk about bees and their life cycle, along with other interesting facts.

QUILTERS’ GUILD

The Dias Quilters’ Guild will have an afternoon of fun and laughter, and a tea party, on Sunday May 20 from 2pm to 5pm at St John’s Anglican Church in Eighth Avenue, Walmer.

Laugh and learn as Elsabe Aldrich examines wholehearted living.

Beautiful handmade items will be on auction, along with plenty of lucky draw prizes. Tickets cost R200 a person. Inquiries: Nicolette, 084506-4493.

WINE TASTING

PE St George’s Club will host their next wine tasting on Wednesday March 29 at 6pm for 6.30pm.

Seven wines will be presented and will also be available on order.

TRIVIA NIGHT

Elsen Academy, a school for children with learning barriers, is holding a music trivia evening on Friday March 31 at 7pm in the school hall.
